Occasionally, I blog. I've been meaning to get serious about reflecting in public about this teaching life since I sent the dissertation to the printers - for the second time. Don't ask. NaNoWriMo came and went last November. Wordpress threw down the blogAday gauntlet this New Year's and yet only yesterday did I finally write something in keeping with the intended subject. You can find it here. Comments are not only welcome but solicited in the name of dialogue.
For what it's worth, I believe that to be an effective teacher, you've got to serve the ideas and learners that have been entrusted to your care. There is a Chinese Proverb that suggests, when the student is ready, the teacher will appear. Might it also be true that when the teacher is ready, the student will appear? This blog intends to explore various answers to that and other questions from the inside out - from the heart of those teachers who've decided to share the sometimes wrestling match, sometimes tango that is teaching and learning in higher education.

About the Editor
SisDr is the name my students gave me while I was gathering research for my dissertation on the passive and active benefits gleaned from using freewriting as a discipline. They wanted to join me in prophetic support of my intention to complete the degree - against the odds they knew we all face. ArchivesCategories |
